What Coveroo does

Coveroo is a job-search assistant: a web dashboard for tracking applications and a Chrome extension that generates tailored cover letters from your resume and a job posting. This policy explains what data we handle to make that work — and what we don't do with it.

Data we collect

  • Account data. Your email address and authentication credentials (or your Google account identity if you sign in with Google).
  • Resumes. Resume files you upload and the text extracted from them, stored so we can write cover letters and let you re-download your files.
  • Job application data. Job titles, companies, locations, salaries, URLs, statuses, notes, and generated cover letters you save.
  • Page content you invoke us on. When you click Generate in the extension, we read the job description from the page you're viewing to write the letter. The extension never reads pages in the background — it only acts on the active tab when you use it.

How your data is used

  • Your resume text, the job description, and any notes you add are sent to a large-language-model provider (Google Gemini, with a fallback provider) solely to generate your cover letter. These requests are made server-side; your data is not used to train models under the providers' API terms.
  • Application data powers your dashboard: pipeline, analytics, goals, and streaks.
  • We do not sell your data, show ads, or share your information with third parties beyond the infrastructure providers listed below.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage) with row-level security so only your account can access your rows and files. The web app is hosted on Vercel. Cover-letter generation calls Google's Gemini API (and, if Gemini is unavailable, Groq).

Your controls

  • Delete any resume or job (with its attached cover letter) at any time from the dashboard.
  • Delete your entire account from Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, resumes, files, jobs, and letters.
  • The extension stores your preferences (tone, length, format) and the last generated letter locally in your browser; you can clear them from the extension's settings.
